Kosas color & Light palette: Helios
This last week, I got out my Kosas Color & Light palette in Helios to use in my daily makeup and wanted to chat with you about how much I love this little palette! I purchased this right when it came out because I was really drawn to the blush color and the campaign launch imagery. The launch images were all of the desert, clear, sunny and warm and perfect imagery for the Winter. It was a nice contrast from the stark, snowy cold in Colorado.
Helios is a cream blush and highlighter duo. The blush is a burnt orange and a most unusual color. It’s earthy, red tones remind me of the red sand in the desert in Utah. It’s the kind of color that looks like you’ve just caught the sun, right before you get a sunburn. I love wearing this blush not only on my cheeks, but also tapped across the bridge of my nose, to give me that sun kissed effect. The highlighter is equally beautiful, a rich, dark gold. The blush and highlight paired together are a perfect combination of dark Earth tones.
I’ve found the Kosas to be the most emollient blush and highlighters I have in my collection. However, I don’t have a problem with this lasting on my face all day. I have applied both over and under setting powder, with excellent lasting results. This also makes the blush and highlight one of the dewiest in my collection and gives my face a lovely glow when I wear them. These colors fit nicely into my makeup routines, as orange is one my favorite colors to wear. I also prefer gold to silver (I like warmer tones on my face), so this highlighter slots in nicely. I like wearing these with orange/red toned lipsticks, and warm brown and red eyeshadows.
I would highly recommend these Kosas duos, and in particular, this Helios color! I have so enjoyed using it for the past week, and the entire time I have owned it. I will certainly repurchase this palette when mine runs out!
