Favorite Single Eyeshadows for Autumn
I’ve been slowing transitioning my makeup over to some more Autumn inspired colors and have a few single eyeshadows that I love using this time of year. As much as I like palettes, I like to have a collection of single eyeshadows too. It feels less overwhelming to work with one color sometimes, as opposed to looking at an entire palette of colors. Here are some of my favorite single eyeshadows that I rotated into my every day makeup collection this week.
By Terry Ombre Black Star in Misty Rock: This is one of the only purple eyeshadows I have in my collection and a gorgeous color for this time of year. It’s a cool amethyst streaked with silver glitter. I usually wear this on it’s own, blending up through my crease and on my lid, as well as under my bottom lashes as a liner too. My favorite lipstick to wear with this is Mac Plumful. Misty Rock is minimal effort and maximum impact, perfect if you are on the go or don’t like to spend tons of time doing your makeup.
Hourglass Scattered Light Eyeshadows in Smoke and Vivid: These are some of my favorite glitter eyeshadows to wear! Like the Misty Rock, these are very user friendly and have a lot of impact with very little effort. I’ve always used my finger to apply these, I find that they have the best application when applied with fingers. Smoke is a beautiful silvery taupe, and it some lights it looks like it has a hint of violet in it. Vivid is a lush dark green, flecked with gold glitter. These both lean on the cooler side of eyeshadows, and look lovely with the darker lips I like to wear in the Autumn and Winter. Smoke looks excellent tapped over Mac Cranberry, or all over the lid with a chocolately brown matte eye shadow in the crease. I like to us Vivid with browns also, or I have used it with other matte green eyeshadows for a full smokey green eye.
Mac Cranberry: This will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was my first venture into red eyeshadow. This looks great with all sorts of looks and really make my green eyes pop when I wear it. Cranberry is a satin eyeshadow, so it has some gentle sheen running through it and what makes it really interesting is the shimmer is pink. That pink is what makes this such a unique color! This is a much cooler red than some of the other firey reds I own, so if you’d like to dip your toe into the red eyeshadow world, this is a great one to experiment with!
I hope you enjoyed my little round up of single eyeshadows! I’m really looking forward to wearing some darker makeup and playing again with these eyeshadows. It’s almost like going on a shopping spree, as I haven’t use some of these colors in almost six months! Have a great Sunday!
