Two Eyeshadow Palettes: Summer 2020
This summer, I surprised myself and became an eyeshadow wearer. I’ve always liked eyeshadow, but pretty standard warm brown eye shadows without venturing too far into the bright color world. I have always been a lipstick gal and it has always been my favorite part of my makeup collection. It still is, but I’ve been gravitating towards eyeshadow this summer more than lipstick. I used two palettes the most this summer, Natasha Denona Sunrise and the Viseart Spritz Edit palettes. Both are vibrant and rich, full of unusual colors and I had so much fun playing with them. I found them both so inspiring for creating eyeshadow looks this summer. Their color stories will carry me into the Autumn as well, so I am looking forward to continuing to create looks with them!
Putting on makeup is very important and a top priority for me. Not because I can’t get through a day without makeup; quite the contrary I have no issues wearing no makeup at all. But, makeup felt especially important to me after my son was born because I had very little time to myself. I still don’t have a lot of time, but I always make time for makeup. Even if it’s just a quick slap it on and go face, I still try to put a little something on every day. Makeup is one thing that I can do completely for myself and helps sooth my anxiety. Spending the summer with my kids meant that my bold and bright lipsticks had to be shelved for a little while too. Covering them with kisses while wearing red lipsticks can get messy, but it’s a nice problem to have.
I’ve had the Sunrise palette for almost a year now and it’s taken me this long to figure out how I like using it. Once I started experimenting more with the colors, I became really taken with the palette. My favorite colors in it are jasper, a rich burnt orange, Carnelian, a warm deep mustard yellow and Phlox, a glittery dark red eyeshadow. I like wearing every color in the palette, but those are three that are the highlights for me.
The Viseart Spritz Edit is a recent purchase for me. This is my first foray into Viseart shadows and it won’t be my last! The shadows are incredible quality and I love the color story in this palette. My favorites in this palette are Spritz, a satin grapefruit, Arancia, a dark glittery gold, Granita, a deep matte pink and Figura, a matte brick red. As with the Sunrise palette, I like using all the colors in the palette, but these four are the ones I have used the most.
The most surprising thing for me while using these palettes this summer is that I have discovered new colors that make my green eyes stand out. I had no idea that yellow, orange and even that grapefruit color would make my eyes stand out so much! It’s been such a joy this summer to discover some new colors that I can add to my arsenal of favorite colors to wear on my eyes. Both of these are worth their prices, as they are some of the best quality eyeshadows I’ve come across. If you are looking for a treat, I would highly suggest one of these!
