Hello!

Greetings friends!

After an extended break from the blog, I am finally starting to get into the swing of things and have more time to write again. My daughter started school, I got a new job, and we’ve had lots of life adjustments in between! I’ve still been sniffing and thinking about perfume daily. I have a list a mile long of perfume I’d like to write to you all about. For now, I thought I would compose a short list of perfume related content that I have enjoyed listening to, reading about or sniffing.

Listening to: Smell Ya Later, Perfume Room and On The Scent podcasts are in my rotation for perfume content. I drive to work listening conversations about perfume, working all day in perfumery and then come home and smell new samples I’ve gotten. Yes, I do love perfume! Smell Ya Later is the podcast I have been listening to the most recently. Tynan and Sable are exactly my age, so it’s fun to listen to them talk about growing up in the 90s and 2000s, and the scents associated with them. I love the candid conversations they have related to scent; it feels like I am hanging out with two of my friends.

Wearing: I recently discovered January Scent Project and have been enjoying smelling my way through John’s collection of scents. Most noteworthy for me was Selperniku. I actually finished my sample of Selperniku and bought myself a 30 ml bottle of it. It’s a glorious salted milky fruit perfume, so wildly strange and beautiful. My friend said it sounded like a lassi drink, which is such a wonderful description of this scent. I did an Instagram live review of Selperniku if you are interested in more details!

Back to School: I took a three part writing class with John Beibel though the Art of Institute and Olfaction in March. It was wonderful to be back in a class again, and to dust off some of my old writing skills. I would highly recommend this class if you are interested in writing about scent, and learning how to describe it better.

Awards Season: Speaking of the Institute of Art and Olfaction, they just announced their finalist for the Art and Olfaction awards this year! I’m so pleased my friend Amber from Aether Arts Perfume is a finalist in the Artisan category! Her beautiful fragrance, Mayan Chocolate, is nominated.

I hope you all are enjoying beautiful spring weather where you are! The trees are finally starting to flower in Colorado and the song birds are singing!
