Eris Parfums: Green Spell

IMG_8776.jpeg

I’ve had my sample of Eris Parfums Green Spell since August and I have been trying to take a picture ever since, to show how I feel when I wear Green Spell. I have thus far been unsuccessful in taking a picture to accurately depict my feelings. I spent an extraordinary amount of time in my backyard this summer, more than I ever have in the seven years we have lived in this house. My appreciation for backyard, garden and summer smells grew as a result. Green Spell feels like wearing a summer day, filled with sunshine, swallowtail butterflies and picking fat, ripe tomatoes from the garden.

I love the way Green Spell wears throughout the day. On first spritz, I am enveloped by the mandarin and galbanum, but as it mellows into my skin, I smell the tomato leaf, violet, whiffs of musk and hints of vetiver. Wearing Green Spell feels like a perfect summer day, which I had a lot of during this summer spent in my backyard. My favorite afternoons were spent laying on an old beach towel with my son and daughter, watching the sun light dance through the trees and Grateful Dead playing quietly in the background. Green Spell takes me right back to those lazy summer afternoons.

This is my first foray in to a fragrance with galbanum in it, and I really like it. Galbanum is that scent you get walking into a florist shop- bright green flower stalks soaking in water. The galbanum in Green Spell, true to its name, makes this one of the greenest fragrances I have had the pleasure of sniffing. Combined with the tomato leaf accord, Green Spell screams summer, gardening and wet, cool grass. The Italian mandarin in the top note adds brightness and the violet leaf, cassis and vetiver help tame the green slightly and bring it down to earth a bit.

I received a sample of Green Spell after I contributed to their Indiegogo campaign for funding the project. I have been hoarding my sample that I got, only spritzing a precious few sprays until it was available for pre-order. I wanted to wait to review Green Spell until it was closer to pre-order time. I just ordered my full size bottle last week! I can’t wait to add this unique fragrance to my collection- I don’t have anything like it. You can purchase Green Spell right from the Eris website, and if you are international, LuckyScent also stocks Eris Parfums. Congratulations on the launch of Green Spell, Barbara!
